Christopher Dresser who was considered to be the first industrial designer of the UK. Dresser's design work spans the years from the mid-19th century to about the art deco period. Dresser's design for this mill was inspired bytheoriginal baptismal font in the York Minster Cathedral in the UK. Dresser was first schooled and taught as a designer before becoming a botanist.
You can see his botanist influence in the plant foliage design incorporated on the mill. Kenrick & Sons classic signature, A. & SONS, is embossed on the bottom. There is also a registration number, though it's difficult to read; perhaps no.
