Antique Coffee Grinder

I found this one in the galley of the "NAUTILUS"! NEMO'S personal coffee grinder. It was tough but I brought it back to life, what do you think? Martin Nuevez Lorraine, France Very rare, full functioning, "NESTOR MARTIN"#2 Des Masures Par Reneuze' Fabrication cast iron/nickle plate 2.460 kg.

The pearl is mounted and chained magnetically and is a proportioning gage, let it down into the grind hopper and then filling only allows enough beans for a smaller amount of grind. Return it to its permanent position when not in use as seen in the pictures. A special wall mount for simple (two) screw attachment and finally the custom made copper and brass sea shell catch cup. This originally a tabletop/edge mounted design. Of course the holdfast type attachment bolt is lost somewhere as was the catch bin.

I've restored this 140 year old as with all my antiques, every care is taken to restore and preserve. In the case of the translucent turquoise baked on finish, by design I chose to allow the damaged nickle plating to be seen as I presume someday this wonderfully appointed left hand cranking French, ! SHOuld someday be sent for replating. And then OUI LA LA!
