Oak, iron and brass coffee grinder or mill, of great age, possibly 18th century. An iron handle, support and grinding wheels, the handle with cut decoration and cast name which appears to be "U LA LOIRE" (the "OIRE" being clear). Brass hopper and rosette decoration. The base in oak, nailed, approximately 15 cm by 16 cm by 13 cm, with chamfered panels set into pillars. Evidence of old repairs- small pieces of wood inset at right angles to the triangular base plates which themselves are retained with bolts and square nuts.

Considerable wear to mechanism and base (drawer has worn grooves in the base). Damage in the form of old splits and a modern knock to one corner (arrowed in photo).
