Antique French Peugeot Frères A1 Cast Iron Coffee Grinder 19th - Very Good Condition. Made by Peugeot Frères between 1855 and 1936, these fabulous cast iron and wood coffee grinders were once found in shops, cafés and establishments all over in France. These mills, also called "moulins de comptoir ou d'épicier", were used to grind large quantities of various seeds: coffee, sugar, oats. It various sizes, this one, the A1, is medium size. Today, manual Peugeot coffee mills are among these vintage items that are very popular with collectors!

This grinder has been completely brushed, cleaned, degreased and rust treated. It is in a very good working condition and you can grind with.

The body is cast iron with brass for screws and covers There are three holes on each side to fix it to a table or other. The interior is enamelled and still in very good condition. The wooden trunk was in too bad condition. I had to redo it but I did it identically and it is perfectly functional.

I preferred to put a brass button for more aesthetics. For defect : The brass opening cover and broken at the rivet, it requires a welding that exceeds my skills. But you can do this by taking to help you the curved part on the other side that does not serve and will not cause any damage to the aesthetic level. There is also a small bose on the trap brass hood but very light.
