Jean Guillaume (Johann Wilhelm) Goldberg (7.12.1778-18.2.1858), born in Bliedingshausen in Remscheid, came for political reasons after Bärenthal (Lorraine / France). Where he headed from 1826 as director of the ironworks, Jacques Coulaux had bought in 1818 (see also Coulaux).
He not only had great success in the development of this work and the improvement of steel production, but also made for the health of the residents earned by dry-drying the local swamps and thus the mosquitoes escaped the foundation, which then spread a dangerous illness. Jean Guillaume's son Gustave (Gustav Friedrich Paul Albert) Goldberg was born on 1805/05/10 in Remscheid. In 1818 he went to Molsheim with his father. Due to the bad order situation, he used his knowledge of metallurgy for the production of instruments and founded a first factory in Dorlisheim in Alsace in 1835.
1837 then followed a second in Zornhoff near Saverne. He presented there until Files ago, later general instrument, saws, coffee grinders, agricultural plane irons.
