The lamps cord will need to be replaced as the male end of the socket has been cut off. The lever rotates clockwise fine. Haven't tried to grind any coffee in the machine though. I believe the wooden backboard isn't original but still would look great and authentic on a wall.

This can be easily removed if you wish.
