Primitive Wall Hanging Coffee Grinder by B. Stands 9 3/4", 11" wide. The wood mount measures 17" x 9 1/2". Marked by the maker "B Swift 1845 Patent, 2". Heavy Cast iron grinder mounted with large nuts and rivets. Long 10 crank with wood handle. Very nice condition with minor surface rust.

Found Eastern Shore Maryland, The patent was registered 8/16/1845 by Beriah Swift. His cousins William and John Lane joined forces, then calling the company Swift and Lane Brothers. Between 1878 and 1882 the company moved to Poughkeepsie NY.
