Antique Toy Coffee Mill/Grinder Cats Artwork Doll Display, Collectible Rare
A very rare children's toy, circa late Victorian, early 1900s era. The blue painted wooden board measures 5.5" x 2.5", it has a hanging hook to the top. Porcelain china mill, has stains inside, looks like it has been actually used to grind coffee.
Gorgeous antique artwork to the white porcelain, look similar to the Louis Wain cats. One cat is riding on a rocking horse, the other cat is sitting in a deck chair holding a teddy bear and a doll. Below the china coffee holder is a metal grinder, painted blue, handle goes around with no problems. Slightly rusty, commensurate with age. Underneath is a glass dish, which collects the ground coffee.
The top of the china coffee holder is missing a lid. Some marks to wood and a bit dusty from storage. It could do with a good clean, but I have left well alone. A beautiful and unusual display piece.
