Rare Antique French Peugeot Toleware and Wood Coffee Grinder Cylinder Shape

Rare find from France, an antique Peugeot Freres coffee bean grinder dating from the late 1800s to the very early 1900s. Peugeot logo and name embossed on the metal dome, which slides half open to fill with beans.

Toleware ribbed cylinder shape has a wonderful antique patina. The grinding portion is wood and metal that screws onto the cylinder bottom piece, held by two "pins". The ground coffee beans fill the bottom piece, which is then emptied when top is unscrewed! In excellent overall antique condition, with just a small crack-line along the base.

A highly sought collector's piece! Perfect for your French kitchen decor and still functional. Measures 9 inches tall to the top of the wood knob of the handle;cylinder section measures 5.5 inches tall with a base diameter of 4 inches.
